Herman Wallace’s Memorial Service & Revolutionary Send Off

Dear Supporters,

Herman’s Memorial Service will be this Saturday the 12th of October at the Treme Center, 900 Villere St. in New Orleans. There is a scheduled service with eulogies from Robert King, Malik Rahim, his Attorney’s, Jackie Sumell, his sister Vicky and a handful of others.

Herman requested his Memorial be non-denominational and community driven and REVOLUTIONARY, so we are asking folks to help us create a living alter as a tribute to Herman and Herman’s legacy. *If you feel moved to do so– please create and contribute a piece of art, a card, a letter, a moment in time, or a memory of Herman.

Supporters be installing Friday evening- but if you can only arrive on the morning of the service, please bring it then. If you would like to mail something to be shared, please insure it will arrive by Friday morning.

Send to: ℅ Herman’s House, 1649 N Robertson St, New Orleans LA 70116

More information on Herman’s life can be found here.  A New Orleans tradition, the repast, will be from 2-4 and we are asking folks who would like to contribute to bring vegetarian dishes and desserts (the rest will be covered). There will be music, an opportunity to say a few words about Herman and food at the repast. It is a time for community healing. If you bring nothing but yourself, it is still a great tribute to a great man.
